Elegy to the Memory of an Unfortunate iPod

[ebarrera]'s iPod, giver of unimaginable joy, is no more.

It has ceased to be, bereft of life, it rests in peace, it has kicked the bucket, hopped the twig, bit the dust, snuffed it, breathed its last, and gone to meet the Great Head of Good Music in the sky, and I guess that we're all thinking how sad it is that an iPod of such talent, such capability and kindness, of such intelligence should now be so suddenly spirited away at the age of only 3, before it'd achieved many of the things of which it was capable, and before it'd had enough fun.

I will never forget all the hours of Music, all the commutes done together, the kilometres traveled, the happiness it made me feel and all the fun we had listening to The Podfather and the Lady Patricia, the laughts with Mike Yoshimoto Nemkov, the many times I cried with Brian & Georgina, the great moments with Fr. Roderik and the guys of "A Way With Words" and the endless night with Dawn and Drew or Anjibee. Now, all that Music all those Podcasts will just stay at home.

Well, my iPod can't do much more for us anymore. It's gone. It is an ex-iPod. All we have of it now is our memories*. But it will be some time before they fade.

In My Life
by John Lennon and Paul McCartney

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
